He is Founder and Honorary Director of CULTNAT; the Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage, for more than 10 years. Professor of Computer Engineering at Cairo University. Dr. Fathy worked as a consultant to the Prime Minister for Cultural Affairs. Dr. Fathy has also received many international awards. In addition, he is the president of the Association for Documentation, Conservation and Valorization of the Euro-Mediterranean Cultural Heritage, a member of the Supreme Council of Culture and a member of the Board of Directors of the Supreme Council of Antiquities. He was also Egypt's ambassador to UNESCO.
